The Jewish Vote Responds to "Solidarity PAC"

NEW YORK -- Following news of a new pro-Israel PAC backed by Republicans and big real estate spending against progressive state candidates, Alicia Singham Goodwin, Political Director of Jews For Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), released the following statement:

“Every cycle, we see a new version of this Republican-backed PAC: big money going up against grassroots candidates, often relying on bad-faith smears or divisive mailers. They don’t have inspiring candidates with popular policies. All they have is an endless amount of money with which to attack genuine progressives.

Solidarity PAC wants a New York that’s only for the wealthy and their friends, exploiting divisions between us and making everyday people afraid while they hoard power and wealth. The goal is to distract us from working together for a ceasefire, taxing the rich, and winning universal healthcare and excellent public schools for all. It’s no surprise: progressive policy platforms threaten the power of people who are used to paying for better care than everyone else.

Anyone who cares about democracy should be alarmed by the prospect of a handful of wealthy donors trying to buy this election. We’re committed to fighting for a New York for ALL, and a country that fulfills the promise of freedom and safety for all of us, no exceptions.”
