[Coming Soon] Role Networks

The JFREJ Role Network is a new way for JFREJ members to develop relevant skills that allow them to hold a wide range of roles, and participate more fully, across JFREJ campaigns and programs

The JFREJ Role Network is a new and experimental way for JFREJ members to develop skills that allow them to hold a wide range of roles, and participate more fully, across JFREJ campaigns and programs. Members of the role network will be invited to participate in skills-based trainings a few times throughout the year to hone relevant skills.

JFREJ members are welcome to express interest and participate in as many role networks as they want, depending on the number of movement hats they like to wear! By signing up for the role network, members will get to hear about opportunities to participate and take action across JFREJ campaigns through the following role networks, which we are working to build out in 5782/2022:

  • Art, Culture & Ritual: This role network will be the hub for artists, cultural workers, and ritual leaders who make our movement irresistible. Members of this role network will hear about opportunities across our organization to collaborate on movement artwork and ritual, as well as opportunities to participate in trainings on things like song and ritual-leading.
  • Community Safety & Security: This role network will be the hub for the agitators and troublemakers who love to pray with their feet and know the tricks to pulling off a powerful direct action. Members of this role network will get opportunities to plan direct actions, participate in rapid response, plan for outreach and recruitment during actions, and attend trainings in order to become security volunteers on or offline, marshalls, and police negotiators.
  • Facilitation: This role network will be the hub for our movement weavers who help us see how it's all connected. Members of this role network will hear about opportunities to be facilitators across our organization and to attend trainings on online meeting facilitation, and the work of flowing information across diverse teams and campaigns for greater transparency and access.
  • Move Money, Build Power: This role network is the hub for anti-capitalist go-getters who love to fund grassroots power-building. Members of this role network will get opportunities to plan membership drives and large fundraising events like The Mazals, and to attend trainings on grassroots fundraising with an anti-capitalist lens.
  • Social Media & Messaging: This role network will be the hub for the storytellers and amplifiers who want the world to know who we are and what we're fighting for. Members of this role network will get opportunities and training to participate in our social media team by: live-tweeting and live-streaming actions, creating graphics, amplifying JFREJ's posts, drafting social media toolkits, and more!
  • Tech & Data: This role network will be for anyone who wants to help build a better world from the comfort of their computer chair: whether you're already a tech wizard, or just computer-curious. Members of this role network will get opportunities to run texting campaigns, support online meetings to run with ease and organization, and learn about how to use data to build people power.
  • Welcome & Care: This role network will be the hub for our hostesses who help make us feel at home in this movement and never forget a birthday. Members of this role network will get opportunities to lead welcome meetings, orient new members one on one, and check in on how our community members are doing.

**Please note that the JFREJ Role Network is in its developmental stage! It hasn't officially launched yet, but if you fill out this interest form you'll hear more about each role network in the coming year. Stay tuned for more information!**
