On Sunday, October 17, JFREJ members gathered alongside our partner organizations and fellow New Yorkers in Grand Army Plaza, outside the home of our Senator, Chuck Schumer.

Sen. Schumer must use every tool at his disposal to pass the Freedom to Vote Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and the infrastructure bill and reconciliation package that make up the Build Back Better agenda. The Senate returned to session the following day, so New Yorkers rallied to send our Senator back to D.C. with a reminder that we are counting on him.

Together, we called on Schumer as Senate Majority Leader to fulfill the promises of the Build Back Better plan: Investing in the care economy. Taxing the rich. Fighting the climate crisis. Protecting voting rights. Freedom for immigrants. Housing. Infrastructure.
