Sukkot for Housing Justice (Wednesday)

Please join JFREJ members this Sukkot for a week of action for housing justice! Let's extend a warm welcome and hospitality to everyone without shelter in our city: migrants, unhoused New Yorkers, people on the edge of losing their homes. Sign up to join JFREJ, Ruth Messinger, Assemblymember Marcela Mitaynes, Council Member Alexa Avilés, and our newest neighbors living in the Sunset Park area on Wednesday for a potluck dinner and mutual aid supplies distribution. Let's ensure the sukkot we build this holiday commit us to extending shelter for all New Yorkers, in the way so many of our families received support when they too escaped and sought shelter in this city.

We will be collecting donated supplies and clothes at this event. Urgent needs include:

  • New and unopened underwear for men, women and children.
  • Men’s small and medium clothing, especially jeans and sweatpants.
  • Clothing of all types for children ages 6-12 and teenagers.
  • Practical shoes for men, women & children.
  • Women's small and medium clothing, including jeans, yoga pants, leggings and sweatpants.
  • New or used strollers and baby carriers.
  • Lightly used bras.
  • Diapers in all sizes.
