JFREJ’s power comes from our 6,000 dues-paying members, and we’ve been able to accomplish a lot —like helping elect NYC’s first Muslim, democratic socialist, millennial mayor! But we know we need more people on our team to win our campaigns to fund universal childcare and end deportations. JFREJ members set a goal to grow to 7,000 dues-paying members by the end of the year, and we’ll need all hands on deck to help us get there.
More than any other time of the year, membership drives are when we bring in the most new members. The week of the drive is when we come together across JFREJ’s many teams with a shared goal of growing our people power. Are you in?
Here are the ways you can to contribute:
Join the Membership Mobilizer team
- Join the Membership Mobilizer team and learn concrete skills in fundraising and basebuilding to bring in new members to JFREJ from your networks. This temporary team is a project of Move Money Build Power, and after the drive, if you’d like to deepen your learning, you’ll be invited to join our 3-month cohort.
Call on behalf of your JFREJ team
- Make calls to people who’ve already expressed interest in a JFREJ team (Neighborhood Group, Campaign Team, Role Network, Caucus, etc.)—and may already be involved—to ask them to join or renew their membership dues.
Phonebank lapsed JFREJ members
- Join our phonebanks to call through lists of lapsed JFREJ members to remind them to renew their dues. (some at the JFREJ office, some on zoom!) Many people are so glad for the reminder because they didn’t even realize their dues have lapsed!
