On May 4th, celebrate Shabbat with WNYC Radio, JCC Harlem, and Repair the World NYC and experience a public conversation addressing the intersecting and diverging journeys that the Black community, Jewish community, and Jews of Color have a long endured in the struggle for civil rights. The evening is one in a series of conversations as part of the Other Box Project, curated and hosted by WNYC’s Jami Floyd. Jami will be joined by Sophie EG, Jewish feminist anti-racism activist, Leo Ferguson, Community Organizer at Jews For Racial and Economic Justice [JFREJ], and Dorcas Evelene Davis, writer, director, performer, and co-founder of the March for Racial Justice to talk across The Color Line about the struggles for justice from the 1960s to now.

The dinner — learning, conversation, and delicious food — costs $18 and is open to the public. All are welcome to attend optional musical Kabbalat Shabbat services at 7pm, hosted by Kehillat Harlem. Cocktail hour will begin at 7:30pm.
