JFREJ is joining dozens of organizations, elected officials, and community members to rally at City Hall on Thursday opposing a planned increase to the NYPD headcount and demanding that Mayor Zohran Mamdani invest that funding in housing, healthcare, and other social services instead. We are also urging the administration to end aggressive quality of life enforcement and arrests for low-level offenses, and to reinstate the promised end to homeless encampment sweeps alongside significant investments in the preventative and community-based care that increase safety for all New Yorkers.
