Stop the Trump-Hochul Cuts: Tax the Rich & Save Healthcare!

Gov. Hochul is choosing her billionaire donors over the health of her constituents.

Over 1 million New Yorkers are about to lose their Medicaid or Essential Plan coverage and 200,000 are poised to lose SNAP because of Trump’s devastating cuts. Our state is losing hundreds of millions of dollars in supportive housing funding. Hundreds of thousands of childcare and home care workers in the state are earning poverty wages. Despite these overlapping crises, Gov. Hochul refuses to make her billionaire donors dig a little deeper and pay their fair share in taxes. Instead of taxing the rich to cover Trump’s cuts, Hochul is stripping funding from home care — forcing home care workers, disabled New Yorkers and older adults to shoulder the burden — while using federal cuts as an excuse.

Will Hochul protect New Yorkers’ Medicaid and SNAP benefits, home care, wages, and housing from Trump’s cuts, or will she protect her donors from paying a little more in taxes? A tax increase is nothing to the handful of billionaires and corporations that just received billions of dollars in federal tax breaks … but that money is everything to us. It’s our lives.

Gov. Hochul must decide: Is she going to defend New Yorkers’ Medicaid and essential services, or her donors’ tax cuts?
