#FreeOurFuture - Get involved with July 2 actions to defend immigrants on the border.

On July 2, Mijente is planning a mass demonstration in San Diego with the intent of closing a new detention camp. This camp is part of Operation Streamline, a program designed to prosecute dozens if not hundreds of undocumented immigrants at the same time with incredibly harsh penalties and no means of redress, already in use in Texas and Arizona. July 2nd is the day it opens in California, and we want to shut it down before it even starts.

Now more than ever, direct action is needed to show the Trump administration that we will not sit idly by and allow families to be ripped apart. Our own histories as Jews are deeply connected to what is happening in our country today. No movement for change has been successful without direct action—from lunch counter sit ins to Standing Rock.

2. If you can help by giving or raising money

One of the most important ways you can help is through giving or raising money!

We are both raising money for the Jewish delegation, and to make a large donation to Mijente from Jewish communities so they can prioritize mobilizing and supporting frontline communities to participate. Our goal is $18,000 total - half for each.

If you want to be part of fundraising for this action, contact Nikki at nikki@jfrej.org
